the launch I didn’t expect

This is not the post that I wanted to write.  Turns out that there’s a large lack of humility that has been tangled up in this blog launch.

By way of explanation, the title “This Beautiful Existence”, this blog is not meant to point you to the beauty of MY existence, but to put on display the beauty of Christ’s existence!

This Beautiful Existence is born out of this verse:

” yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.” – 1 Corinthians 8:6

This was the name that I doodled all over my high school notebooks, in hopes of someday being a part of a band and being able to use this title.  It has stuck with me, so when it was time to start hosting the blog again, I KNEW that there was no way that the realizing my those lofty high school dreams has been indefinitely put to the side for my better calling as a bondslave, follower and student of Christ, a wife to my sweetheart, a mother to my three darling children, a daughter, a sister, and a friend.  My goal through sharing the providential circumstances that God has placed in my life and in the lives of those closest to me comes in line with this title.

I hope to stimulate you to look at Christ with believing eyes, open hearts and engaged minds, as He is worthy and uses the weakest of vessels to teach and preach the truth.  For this, I do ask for your patience, as I work through these higher things and put them down on screen.  I am seeking to be vulnerable, to share my heart and to use this platform properly. I’m confident that God will answer my prayers to encourage and exhort those who choose to read.  There will be mistakes, and if I am in error in handling the word of God, you have the opportunity and the responsibility to hold me accountable to this!  I gladly welcome that, and support your being a Berean (Acts 17:10-12), searching the scriptures and using sound judgement to exhort me!    I will be examining my own heart and wanting to use the best influences, quotes, hymns and study helps in my work of writing this blog!

This life that I lead is beautiful to me, but I so often choose not to see the beauty.  That is another goal of this blog; to take into account the beauty that God has placed in my life, and attribute it back to Him.  Beauty is sometimes subjective, but I will choose to see it in potentially unbecoming circumstances to show God’s glory.  The things that my kids do, the sunrises that I so enjoy seeing, the dovetailing of Scripture study and real life application, the struggles of every day life, the sweetness of communion with kindred spirits, the kindness of God in giving us nature to observe and learn from, the people that speak into my life, etc.

God had provided me with a unique platform to give Him praise, and my prayer is that as you read this, you will be stimulated to praise Him for His faithfulness to YOU, to me and to those whose desire is to obey and please Him!

I’ll be so glad to hear that you are reading, and what you’re thinking about. Will you share with me, and leave a comment?  This will help me to know how to pray for you, for I care for you!

Love in Christ,

– Alison
